Dr Who and Its Pronoun Propaganda

Doctor Who used to represent a very British kind of individualism and anti-authoritarianism. Now he's happily pushed around by the pronoun police. That's exactly the way the LGBTQ+ lobby likes it.

Hi there wonderful subscribers,

I’m currently doing an intense deep dive into the furry movement. I researched the subject earlier this year but after the blatant promotion of furry identity on a BBC show called Doctors last week I decided it was time to revisit it. All I can say is….OMFG. I will send you my findings in the next day or so. Suffice to say I was genuinely shocked.

In the meantime this is a longer version of an article commissioned by Spiked Online about another case of BBC propagandising…Dr Who and the policing of pronouns. Of aliens. Why would aliens have mammalian biology? And even if they did why would they use English language pronouns? Half the world on planet Earth doesn’t. It is such an obvious attempt by the show’s executive producer Russel T Davies to trigger objections.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy. The article won’t appear in Spiked for a couple of days, so you’re getting it first. Thanks as ever for reading and special, grateful thanks for those who support my research by being paid subscribers.

Remember when Dr Who used to be fun? Watching it now though is as much fun as being publicly humiliated at work by some jumped-up non binary form-filler from HR who thinks he’s amazing because he’s painted one of his fingernails black.

Take this scene in last weekend’s special ‘The Star Beast’, which was treated with the gravitas normally reserved for the appearance of the ghost of Martin Luther King. Yet all that happened was a transwoman character -played in an extraordinary leap of the human imagination by an actual transwoman, Yasmin Finney- lectured the Doctor about pronouns.

Funny how they chose the most passing transwoman they could find. From a certain angle. With the right filters. Early on in the show the transwoman character, Rose, is shouted at and misgendered by transphobes. Of course he is.

Anyway back to the riveting plot.
