Mommie Dearest: The Sequel.
Celebrity parents of "trans" children, like David Tennant, love to self-identify as social justice heroes but too often they are a toxic influence on their own children and the rest of society.
At first I couldn’t remember who the actor David Tennant reminded me of when he was caught ranting at an LGBT Awards ceremony about Kemi Badenoch and other woman who have the gall to want to keep male genitals out of women’s single sex spaces.
“They’re a tiny bunch of whinging fuckers”, spat Tennant like some thug who had a sonic screwdriver hidden in his trouser leg. Then it came to me: Faye Dunaway screaming ‘no wire hangers’ in ‘Mommie Dearest’.
In the the 1981 movie Dunaway portrays Joan Crawford as an image obsessed Hollywood great who slips into madness under the strain of desperately trying to keep her audience’s adulation flowing. There’s another link with Tennant and it’s certainly not that he comes close to Crawford in acting ability. It’s his unrepentant narcissism. Crawford is portrayed as a monster, mercilessly exploiting her children as a PR weapon to try to soften the jagged edges of her ego. ‘Mommie Dearest’ was based on the tell-all memoir by Crawford’s daughter Christine and it started a brief trend.
Other books soon followed from the children of Bing Crosby and Bette Davis. Both portrayed their parents as so self-obsessed their children were left psychologically damaged by being treated as dispensable commodities. The genre is surely ripe for a revival now that a spate of celebrity parents, Tennant included, have taken to using their kids to sprinkle LGBTQ+ Holy Water on their images. These parents would never stoop to beating their children like Crawford was alleged to. The question remains though whether they are abusing them psychologically by affirming their non-existent trans or non-binariness.
Should we even be having this discussion? Some people cargue it’s never appropriate to mention celebrities’ children. Relationships between parents and children fall apart all the time, they say. And not just those of celebrities. On the other hand it’s hard to ignore the disasters left in the wake of celebrity parenting, many of which have the flavour of grand guignol.
Take Marlon Brando. He loved to lecture America about its alleged violence and spiritual corruption. Over 15 years, he fathered 12 children with five different women and adopted three more. The lives of his children descended into chaos, drug addiction, and even murder when Brando’s son Christian shot the boyfriend of his half-sister Cheyenne. She would later commit suicide after years of drug abuse. Don’t try any of this at home.
On a lighter note there’s the celebrity chef Marco Pierre White, the great 1980s exponent of machismo in the culinary field who allegedly delighted in bullying and humiliating staff. Never mind customers. His son was recently identified by the cops when he was caught on CCTV shimmying through a window after a burglary. His trousers had fallen down revealing distinctive tattoos on his legs. How humiliating….
To sharpen this contrast between the endless pontificating of celebrities and the reality of their own personal lives a wild card has now been added; a new woke way for fame-feeders to rebrand themselves as morally superior. Our old friend ….trans.
There are so many celebrity parents with allegedly trans or non-binary children nowadays it’s sometimes easier to work out who hasn’t one, than who has.
Warren Beatty and Anette Bening? Tick
Anette is worried about people stoking up hate, by which she presumably means people opposing clinicians pumping drugs into other girls as deluded as her own daughter ‘Stephen’.
Charlize Theron? Tickity Tick. Her son “looked at me when she was three years old and said: ‘I am not a boy! So there you go!’
That makes Faye Dunaway’s portrayal of Joan Crawford seem positively sedate.
Cythia Nixon? Tick.
She announced her daughter was a boy with this legend,
“the fact is, as a parent, as a human, you should listen to what people tell you about themselves.”
Thank goodness her daughter didn’t say she was an astronaut from Uranus or Her Anus.
In the case of Jamie Lee Curtis her son, now called ‘Ruby’, dressed for his wedding as a character from the video game Skullgirls. Why not. He is as much a skullgirl as he is an actual girl. He’s the creepy one on the left, lest you’re in any doubt.
In the old days we would have been allowed to point at the photographs from this ridiculous-looking wedding and have a good chortle. Not now though. That’s because celebrities have turned their allegedly trans child into a new way to make us take their idiot pronouncements seriously. Take the godawful Sting and Trudie Styler, exponents of Tantric sex who used to bleat non-stop about the sainted Yanomami Tribe of the Amazon; until it was revealed the very same tribe was up to its feathery hairdresses in corruption and internecine violence.
But all that’s in the past apparently as they now regale us with stories about their daughter Elliot who has mysteriously managed to lose her gender. Maybe if Trudie and Sting had spent less time banging their tantric gonads together they could have summoned the effort to explain reality to their daughter.
When it comes to celebrities though there’s always a much more important priority than that of being a good parent: how to keep their brand fresh. Luckily for them, having a trans or non-binary kid has come along to do just that. It’s the new celebrity accoutrement de jour.
Like Joan Crawford smiling approvingly at little Christine while the paparazzi snapped …..today’s celebrities line up to cherish, nourish and support their troubled offspring, who have finally found a way to get a tiny sliver of their parents’ attention. All this mental drama is applauded by a mainstream media that has drunk heavily of the pink and blue koolaid. The same media that refuses to acknowledge that Rachel Levine is a freak and Dylan Mulvaney being invited to the White House by the President after less than a year larping as a “girl” is not just unfair on actual women ….it’s insane.
This means when anyone does speak out against the abusive idiocy of socially transitioning a child it’s they who are attacked by the liberalati. When the basketball player Dwayne Wade announced in 2020 that his son Zion was now a girl (sic) called Zaya, the Rapper Boosie Badazz took to Instagram to deliver a truth bomb.
“That is a male,” he pointed out. “A 12-year-old. At 12, they don’t even know what they next meal is gonna be… If he gonna be gay, let him be gay. Don’t dress him as a woman, dawg… Don’t cut his fucking dick off.”
Isn’t it astonishing that gays boys now have to reply on rappers to defend their right to grow up to be happy homosexuals.
It’s not just happening in America, of course. We have our own Joan Crawfords here in Blighty too. It’s time to talk about David Tennant and his equally crazy wife Georgia. And their camp little son they appear determined to gaslight.
