No Child Left Behind? The Real Trans Agenda.
An activist has finally said out loud what the trans lobby is really after: surgery and hormones for children no matter how young. This is the goal they've been developing behind the scenes for years.
What is the long-term goal of the trans lobby? A clue was provided this week in New York Magazine by its literary critic, the leading trans activist Andrea Long-Chu .
In ‘The moral case for letting trans kids change their bodies’ Long-Chu argues there should be an unregulated ability for anyone to get their body modified by hormones or surgery, no matter their psychiatric health nor…. and this is the part that has really got jaws a-dropping… their age.
This is a longer and more discursive version of an article that’s due to appear in Spiked Online in the next 24 hours. It contains exclusive content for my paid subscribers that won’t be featured there.
If you are able to become a paid subscriber I’d be very grateful. The revenue from suscriptions allows me to continue doing my research.
My next post will relate some of the slow battle over the last 5 years against puberty blockers; one which has consumed so much of my life (and career). I played only a tiny part in the attempt to change minds which has led to the decision by NHS England stopping the prescription of blockers to children but even that I could not have done without your support. Once I started speaking out against blockers my work in TV dwindled to a shadow of what it had been.
Anyway, on with the story…..
Andrea (aka Andrew) Long-Chu is not exactly what we used to think of as a progressive. Reduxx revealed last year that while at Duke University, he published a gem entitled “I am a Racist” about his relationship with his Chinese girlfriend.
In this he admitted unapologetically,
“I relish the notion of having mixed-race children but I remind myself that I would never raise them with a backward Chinese notion of family. I objectify her. I exoticize her. I see her race and her gender before I see her.”
Okay…maaaaaate.
Despite this stumble and fumble on the dark side after Andrew transitioned (and broke up with that same girlfriend who must thank her lucky stars every bloody day) he was allowed effortlessly to reinvent himself as an authority on all things LGBTQ+.
It’s in that guise Long-Chu argued this week in order to achieve true trans freedom,
“We must be prepared to defend the idea that, in principle, everyone should have access to sex-changing medical care, regardless of age, gender identity, social environment, or psychiatric history.”
It’s tempting to dismiss this argument as some sort of provocation. And it’s true he has previous when it comes to outrageous statements, not least in the misogyny department, including the observation that “getting fucked makes you female because fucked is what a female is” and the description of the anus as “a kind of universal vagina through which femaleness can always be accessed”. Who knew?
Long-Chu also claims to have discovered he was trans by watching industrial quantities of sissy porn, a genre in which men are often forceably feminised. We should dismiss none of this as outrageous for its own sake. Robert Stoller, who coined the term ‘gender identity’ claimed that sissy porn was a key to understanding transsexuality. Chu also won the Pulitzer Prize for Literary Criticism in 2023 so he can hardly be dismissed as fringe.
Either way, whether he is provocateur or LGBTQ+ mainstream, the most disturbing thing about Long-Chu’s article is the fact it defends publicly an agenda the trans lobby has been cooking up behind the scenes for years.
The place where it is possible to trace the evolution of the lobby’s thinking most clearly is at the global trans health organisation WPATH. In its archives trans activists have left a startling record; one I’ve been piecing together. This is the story of how a battle in the 1990s prepared the ground for Long-Chu’s disgraceful manifesto and foreshadowed today’s real trans lobby agenda.
