The Pathological Drag Queen Plot.
'Pose' deliberately erased the boundaries between drag and trans activism. The story of the show, which has never been told before, reveals the pathological misogyny at the heart of both.
Part Two: ‘Pose’ Rewrites History.
If you want to know how drag became so mainstream the answer lies in a television series first aired in 2018 on Disney’s FX Channel.
The previously untold story of 'Pose', the drag queen drama series, reveals how violent and depraved are the misogynistic ideas driving the transgender movement.
‘Ru Paul’s Drag Race’ may have transformed drag into shiny floor entertainment but it was ‘Pose’ that played the critical role in normalising this woman-mocking “art form”. It did this by creating a new template in which the boundaries between drag and trans activism were deliberately blurred.
When I wrote about the origins of Pose late last year I promised to return to the subject. I apologise it’s taken me longer to do that than I’d planned. One reason for the delay was the more I researched this story the darker and more disturbing it became. I also worried I’d be accused of exaggeration by saying the show was shaped by shockingly morbid ideas. Ideas that celebrate or at the least excuse transgressive violence, child exploitation and contempt for women.
I genuinely believe though that by following the intellectual threads that led directly to Pose and informed its content it’s possible to diagnose -as perhaps never before- the moral sickness that has engulfed the LGBTQ+ movement. See if you agree.
At the heart of this story is a dissection of the biographies of the show’s two trans creative leads. Once you’ve read what I uncovered about these two men I suspect you’ll be incredulous the mainstream media has ignored what’s been staring them in the face for years.
There’s a lot of unpleasant content in this post including references to the work of that moral black hole that is the French gay writer Jean Genet. Yep…he really did influence Pose. The good news though is it ends on an uplifting note as one of the most influential trans activists in the world delivers a speech of such unrestrained insanity ….it blows up his career.
You’ll have to have a heart of stone not to laugh at that.
