The State of Sarah McBride.
Is it an accident that the first trans person in Congress represents a state that's a byword for money-laundering and tax-evasion ...and is run by a tiny, secretive and corrupt elite?
The McBride Files: Part One.
‘The Delaware Way’: The Political Culture that Produced Sarah McBride.

Apologies for the delay in getting this to you.
I’ve been researching Sarah McBride, the first trans identified person to be elected to the US Congress, for more time than I care to remember.
I thought my post about him was finally finished on Friday. The good news is it was full of fascinating nuggets about Sarah (aka) Tim McBride I hadn’t seen elsewhere. The bad news: there was something missing. Why ….Delaware, I kept wondering. What was it about this tiny state which is hardly ever in the news….that meant it elected a Congressman whom the Democrats and the wider liberal-left seem determined to portray as our generation’s Rosa Parks?
It’s a question I’ve asked about other places that are noisy pioneers of “trans rights”. Malta, Scotland and Argentina are all run by arrogant political elites who loathe scrutiny, avoid transparency and have used performative LGBTQ+ baloney to try to rainbow wash their corruption and/or incompetence. It didn’t seem likely that could be true of Delaware too.
After all, the one thing I knew about the state was it had been represented for almost four decades by that salt of the earth icon of the working class….Joe Biden. And though Sleepy Joe had obviously drunk the trans koolaid when he entertained Dylan Mulvaney at the White House, the former President didn’t strike me as in the same league as ghastly Nicola Sturgeon who can’t tell the truth even if she tries, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner who purloined billions from banks in Buenos Aires or whatever gangster is running Malta at the moment (Robert Abela in case you’re interested).
And yet. As I dug and dug into the story of Biden and the state he and his tiny circle have run since the 1970s I began to detect a familiar stench. A rotten one. There is the hypocrisy for a start. Delaware is America’s tax evasion capital yet it’s dominated by a man and his appointees who never stop expressing disgust about….tax evasion.
That’s only the tip of the proverbial. Delaware has been described by corruption experts as akin to a gangster state where the racketeers are respectable corporate lawyers and lobbyists who service the needs of oligarchs, arms dealers and corrupt foreign embezzlers as well as real gangsters. The ones with guns.
The secretive, collaborative culture which supports this money-machine has been dubbed ‘The Delaware Way’. It’s number one rule like that of ‘Fight Club’ is that no-one can acknowledge the existence of the nexus of self-interest and greed that makes Delaware hum and provides its political leaders with lucre.
The question is what might those who run such a place do to try to distract attention from their hypocrisy and shady practices? Might they choose the first trans identified person to represent their state in Congress? Just a thought. I mean it could put all those woke folks who loathe tax evasion and corporate interests off the scent. Perhaps that’s too improbable an idea?
Read on and decide for yourself.

Sarah McBride is in the news.
And once you’ve read these two posts you’ll appreciate how much he must be loving that. This is the story of one man’s hunger for attention. And how a wealthy hypocritical elite, mired in a corrupt political culture, found in his hunger the answer to their prayers.
McBride, the first trans identified person elected to Congress, was sworn in at the beginning of this month. It was “history-making” according to the ‘Advocate’.
Two weeks later McBride was appointed as one of his party’s Deputy Whips which was probably “history-making” too. Or something.
There are perhaps two explanations for such rapid advancement. One is that McBride is exceptionally talented. The other is that his party remains insanely captured by trans ideology. I know the one I’m putting money on.
Sarah McBride’s success is though more than just another example of liberals falling under the sway of the collective delusion de jour. His story offers important clues to why trans ideology is embraced so enthusiastically by much of the “progressive” Left.
For one thing McBride shows how adopting a trans persona can help some members of the old political elites mask their old-fashioned, pointy-elbow ambition. McBride has achieved prominence while managing to shield himself from the criticism routinely meted out to other wealthy, super-connected and entitled white men who are not trans identified. No one demands Sarah checks his privilege.
McBride’s story is more important -and revealing- than that. For it’s not only his own raw (male) ambition McBride’s transness masks. The mainstream media’s uncritical enthusiasm for McBride also veils the unique political culture from which he emerged. A culture that is everything so-called progressives normally claim to despise.
It’s hard to exaggerate just how dodgy is Delaware, which McBride now represents as the state’s sole member of Congress. Ralph Nader, America’s most famous advocate of consumer rights, describes it as a “rogue state” which is “a deeply rooted corporate haven for license and lawlessness”.
It’s not merely that Delaware has long been dominated by lobbyists and law firms who are accused of working together to turn it into a refuge for tax dodging multinationals, kleptocratic oligarchs and money-laundering gangsters. Nobody’s perfect after all.
At the centre of the state’s incestuous, secretive culture is a family you may have heard of. The Bidens have controlled the politics of Delaware, the second smallest state in the US, for four decades and their financial links to the state’s overweening law firms and lobbyists are, to say the least…intimate. As are their links to Sarah McBride and his family.
Indeed it’s impossible to imagine McBride would be anywhere close to where he is now without the vocal support of Jill and Joe Biden.
This then is the remarkable story of how a young man with a burning need for recognition discovered the magic of a blue dress. The tale he spun about this blue dress would propel his almost effortless rise and allow him to insert the mythology of the transgender lobby deep into the corridors of American power.
As in other poorly regulated polities the political ruling class of Delaware concluded an effective way to obscure their own deceptive behaviour was to champion a candidate that was … living a lie.
