Trans and the Nazis: The Biggest Lie So Far
When JK Rowling retweeted my thread that challenged the trans lobby's claims of Nazi persecution she was denounced by LGBTQ+ activists. They were enraged because she'd exposed them for spreading lies.
Last week I had a Meta Moment.
I was visiting the only Roman bath house in Scotland at the time. No not some seedy sauna with plastic pediments and plunge pools. This was a real bath-house, over 1800 years old. Or what was left of it.
On the outskirts of what is now Glasgow it was built for soldiers who manned the Antonine Wall, the later and more northerly little brother of the more famous one built by Hadrian.
As I took photographs I listened to the chapter of Troubled Blood the gripping novel by Robert Galbraith (aka JK Rowling) in which her private detective hero quizzes serial killer Dennis Creed about his torture of women. The details were so visceral I had to take a break. It was just as I was wondering how fearless the imagination of JK must be to allow her to explore such evil…. when my phone began to buzz.
The author I was listening to had just retweeted a thread of mine about the Nazis, the very embodiment of unimaginable evil. She was about to face an onslaught of vicious lies.
Me less so since I possess the ultimate Hogwarts power-wand….which both repels enemy attacks and coats me in relative invisibility…also known as a penis. I’m honoured though that JK felt my work here, which you’ve supported with your subscription, was helpful in trying to dispel the myth that trans people were a central focus - or frankly even a secondary one- of the biggest crime of the 20th Century.
As Twitter’s foaming, hyperbolic lies rolled in like endless clouds thundering across Glasgow’s skies I couldn’t help but ponder how ironic it is that everyone can agree what happened 1800 years ago at this archaeological site….
But not about what happened and to whom….just 80 years ago…in places like this.
That’s because no gutless, ahistorical LGBTQ+ activists are wasting their time arguing the Antonine Wall or its bath house was peopled by cross-dressers or aromantics. There is no reflected glory to be had from that. Victimhood doesn’t get soaked up from association with Roman centurions. Instead the trans lobby has fixed its mandibles into the Holocaust story, one rightly considered sacred loaded with victimhood for the ages.
The reaction to JK’s tweet was revealing.
